Google's behavioral targeting has become a popular topic these days, and Yahoo has just recently added 'Demographic Bidding'. But before we get familiar with the new, let's review the old. I've put together a table of basic targeting options offered by the three major search engines (Google, Yahoo, and MSN).

All the information is gathered from each search engine's help page.

1.Location Targeting - Allows advertisers to target a specific geographical area, or a combination of areas. Their ads would only show up at the locations they target.

Google allows the advertiser to select any combination of locations to target with their campaigns, including countries, territories, regions, cities and custom areas.

Yahoo allows the advertisers to geographically targeting their campaigns by:

* Entire Market
* Country, State/Province, Designated Market Area (DMA), or City
* ZIP/Postal Code

In MSN, advertisers can target their campaigns to potential customers in specific countries/regions, states/provinces, metro areas, or cities within their market. Microsoft adCenter does not offer targeting by postal code at this time.

2. Language Targeting - Allows advertisers to target their campaigns to a specific or a combination of language group, for example: English, Japanese.

Google's AdWords system looks at a user's Google interface language setting to see if it matches one of the languages that the advertiser's campaign is targeting.

Yahoo do not have Language Targeting option

In MSN by selecting a language and market, you are selecting the language you will write your ads in and the market that your ads will be distributed through.

3. Demographic Targeting - Allows advertisers to target their campaigns to specific age groups, gender, and etc.

Available only on Google content network. Google will analyze the demographical preferences advertisers selected and create a list of available Google Network sites that are popular with that audience.

Currently only available for Yahoo! sites. Demographic bidding adds a premium specified by advertisers to bids that are searched by the preferred demographics, so their ads show up at higher than usual positions.

You can target customers by age and gender so that your ads are displayed more frequently to people who will be interested in them. The data used for the demographic targeting option comes from information reported by MSN customers.

4. Ad Scheduling - Allows advertiser to schedule their ads to show up at different times of the day.

In Google ad scheduling can be enabled for any AdWords Standard Edition campaign. Advertisers may also choose the advanced mode, which allows them to raise or lower their bids for a campaign at certain times of the day.

In Yahoo ads can be set to run all day, to run only on specific times of the day, or to not run at all on specific days. These scheduling preferences can also be mixed so ads run on different schedule for different days.

In MSN Ads can be set to run on specific days of the week and specific times of the day.

When you're building a website specifically to support your article marketing efforts, you need to think about what you want the website to do. What's the primary purpose?
In several years of article marketing, I've learned there are basically five reasons to build a website:
1 - To earn AdSense income.
2 - To promote your newsletter and build an opt-in email list.
3 - To present a direct sales pitch for a product (a 'sales letter' site).
4 - To start a blog for quick indexing and free targeted traffic.
5 - Purely for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) purposes.
In practice, you will usually combine a couple of the above purposes into one website.
And if you're smart, you'll ALWAYS include an opt-in form on ALL your sites
Let's look at the five types of websites in a little more detail.

1 -- The AdSense Site

The goal here is to make a site with good AdSense placements. If you aren't familiar with AdSense,. AdSense is an ad program offered by Google. Unlike affiliate programs, where the visitor has to make a purchase for you to get paid, AdSense pays you whenever someone clicks one of its ads.An AdSense site offers your visitors excellent quality information, plus it displays AdSense in a way that encourages them to read the ads and click on the ones that interest them the most. What you make from an AdSense click depends on many different factors it can be anywhere from a couple of cents to a couple of dollars. Once you qualify for an AdSense account, you place a small piece of code on your website where you want ads to display.

2 -- The Opt-In Site

As I mentioned earlier, you should actually build an opt-in list on ALL your sites. But sometimes you will build a site for just this ONE purpose to get subscribers to your opt-in list
On an opt-in site, there will be nothing else on the main page except your opt-in box and a call to action, encouraging the visitor to subscribe.
The goal of your opt-in site is, of course, high conversions. In this case you're not selling a product you'll do that in your email newsletters though I guess you could say that your newsletter is a free product! The point is to get as many visitors as possible to actually become subscribers.

3 -- The Direct Sales Site

The name says it all. Everything on this page layout, content, graphics is designed to 'pre-sell' the reader on owning the product.
The Direct Sales site is designed to encourage visitors to click through to the merchant's sales page and BUY the product.
There's a lot you can do with this type of website. You could provide full product reviews, mini-reviews, videos of the product, testimonials and endorsements, and even compare several similar products side-by-side.
Later on I'll show an example of one type of Direct Sales site that has converted very well for my own article traffic.

4 -- Blog

Blogs are a very interesting phenomenon, and can really multiply your article marketing efforts. Blogs have a couple of advantages over ordinary websites:

2a.Search engines love blogs. If you set up your blog correctly, Google will index your blog pages very fast. This means that if you put the right keywords into the articles you put on your blog (called 'posts'), you'll start to get free traffic from searches almost immediately.

b.The beauty of a blog is that you can easily add little scripts to it -- called 'plug-ins' -- that allow readers to share what you've written on these sites, and with just one click. That's more free targeted traffic, and you don't have to lift a finger to get it.
Blogging works incredibly well with affiliate marketing and article marketing -- if you set up your blog properly. In fact, over the last year and a half I've been using blogs almost exclusively when building new websites.
And there are bloggers who make five figures a month using blog marketing, so it definitely works! 5 -- The SEO Site

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the art and science of creating web pages that the search engines especially Google will display on the first page of results for certain keywords you are targeting.
Basically SEO involves more research than the Ezine Articles and ClickBank research you just learned about. You'd need to research keywords related to your niche using a tool like the Google AdWords Keyword Tool. Then you would write your content using those keywords a specific number of times, as well as including related keywords.
You'd also need to make sure your web page code makes it easy for search engine scripts called 'spiders'to read your pages. And finally, you'd start a link-building campaign to get other sites, especially important sites called 'authority sites,' to link to your web pages.

I first began to work with meditation in response to a significant panic disorder.

My initial meditation training centered on the breathe and specific visualization techniques.

Regular meditation left me calmer and more centered.

The more I meditated the more capable I became in handling the chaos that was my life.

My engineering training pushed me in the direction of learning what I could about what I was experiencing.

I began reading and studying what I could about the brain, it's functions and capabilities.

This study led me to the field of brainwave entrainment and the use of brain wave entrainment audio recordings as a way to increase my effectiveness in the world, as a way to develop Super Mind Power.

I learned about the different brain wave frequencies that comprise our basically electrical brain

* The very fast Gamma waves -which show up during times of high stress but also appear when one is experiencing very deep compassion.

* The fast Beta waves that represent the human's typical 'busy' mind.

* The slow Alpha waves of creativity

* The even slower Theta waves that show up during trance and very deep relaxation

* And the slowest, the Delta, which normally cannot be accessed in a conscious state, but have been shown to be very active in those who are highly intuitive or who are active in various Energy Healing modalities.

By working with a brainwave entrainment program under the guidance of it's creator, coupled with focused advanced communication skills training, I am now advancing rapidly toward my goals of ever expanding consciousness and increased mind power.

I am learning how to 'turn on' specific brain waves on command. I am now much more conscious of what my thinking mind is doing and how to 'turn it off' when necessary. This has allowed me to become much more effective in my day to day life.

In addition to being able to easily get more accomplished during a normal day I have noticed some other really wonderful changes in my life...

I have started to 'Dream Bigger'. Where once I had very limited, very clear expectations relative to my life - I now know that I can be, do and have whatever I desire.

I remain calm regardless of what is happening around me. This hit me very strongly just last week. I watched the chaos that was taking place all around me and I realized that I was not a part of it. It was a strange, wonderful feeling - this knowing that I was at my center even in those moment when the center was not obvious to find.

I laugh more. I laugh every day. I use to think life, and my problems were real and important. I credit the brain wave entrainment training with this new found realization that any problem presented to me is temporary and easily resolved.

And I have a strong knowing that what I can do anyone who has a desire can do as well.

You create what you have including creating what you do not want. So why do you create what you do not want? Only you can answer that question. Changing limiting beliefs starts with looking at what you do not want. For example: I do not want more bills. I do not want this headache. I do not want to fight with my better half. I do not want to always have to prove myself at work. If you were able to create the things you do not want, does that prove you have the power to create the things you do want? And get rid of limiting beliefs once and for all? Let us look at what you have that you do not want. None of us want to be dealing with the loss of a loved one, dealing with grief, anger, unhappiness, stress, my boss, my corporate job, my coworkers. We want to know how to deal with our negative friends. Know how to handle being fired, learn how to deal with a broken relationship, how to get over a broken heart. Life throws us curves. We do not want them but that is a part of life. How you handle these issues is the springboard to getting rid of limiting beliefs because you learn you have the power to turn things around.

We start with what you do not want because it shows your current reality. It shows what is in your life now. If you are going to create your ideal life, you have got to clear up your limiting beliefs. Learn how to get rid of them. And it starts with focus.

When you focus on something, it attracts more of that. So if you are focusing on what you do not want, you continue to get more of that. What you do not want continues to show up because that is what you are attracting by what you are doing, feeling or saying.

So now you are starting to see the link between what you think about what you want and actually having what you want. There are no accidents. You attract what you think about.
Here is another example: your logical mind says you do not want more bills and you do want more money to pay those bills. But the conversations in your head come up differently. What you hear is I do not know how to get out of this debt. I'm not lucky enough to make more money or I do not know how to make more money. I am just like the failure my father was. The old data that stores your thoughts comes up with all your negative stuff. And it is those conversations and negative thoughts that are the main reason for what stops you, and, quite honestly, all of us in life.

Change your limiting beliefs, erase and transform them. Learning how to find limiting beliefs about money and clearing limiting beliefs once and for all can change your life.

The result of this type of thinking will get you frustrated and you'll feel like you're spinning your wheels. More often than not you will continue to work the twelve hour days and it won't matter. You'll get more discouraged and promotions will continue to pass you by because of your attitude.

1. Don't let your emotions cloud your business judgment
If you are buying for investment purposes particularly, try not to become emotionally involved, remember this is a business transaction and unless you plan to stay and use your overseas property choose an area with strong capital appreciation and just because you wouldn't live there yourself doesn't mean it's not a good investment. According to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors review in 2006 the top rising markets with the highest capital appreciation in 2005/6 were Estonia, Denmark and Spain. However, this data is now well out of date as the Spanish market in particular is no longer a speculators market.

2. Research and understand your rental market
Be careful if purchasing in large blocks of apartments exclusively sold to investors, which can often complete together bringing large supply into the market at one time. Twenty or thirty apartments can easily find tenants, but prepare to wait longer if you're the owner of an apartment in a block where hundreds of apartments become available to rent at the same time. Also ask local letting agents the type of units that rent easiest, if the area is over developed there can sometimes be an oversupply of two bed apartments.

3. Remember transaction costs seriously reduce your returns
Remember transaction costs reduce your overall yield. For example in Germany apart from transfer taxes (stamp duty) the buyer pays the estate agency fees, not the vendor. Transaction costs also increase in countries where the loan to value rates are low, the more cash you have to put into a deal the less the return on investment. Check all your transaction costs before buying, ask your solicitor for a full quote in writing outlining all taxes and fees, but remember to ask for it in writing before you commit.

4. When is a discount not a discount?
It is easy to get discounts on higher value properties, over priced properties and over supplied destinations. Remember list prices are developer driven and they always tend to price at the top of the range. Just because you receive a 10% discount doesn't mean you secured a bargain. You are better off buying the right property at list price provided there is good local sales and rental demand. It is more important to buy in areas where there is a good resale market and a strong rental market rather than an area where developers are offering discounts. Currently certain parts of Eastern Europe have weak resale markets. Spain also has some pockets of oversupply; however this can be seen as a buying opportunity for experienced buyers.

5. Achieving short term capital appreciation
There is limited capital appreciated prospects if you purchase a two bedroom apartment in an area with hundreds or thousands more two bedroom apartments either completed or in the planning stage. If you wish to beat the market you need to establish which segment within a given market has the least supply and the most sales demand both by local and foreign buyers.

6. Negotiating skills
Negotiating skills are your most underestimated asset, always haggle and you will be surprised how much discount you can get especially if you're a cash buyer! Estate agents often over estimate values and many often test the market with high unrealistic prices. Some agents and developers have a built in habit of implying there is more actual demand than there really is. Foreigners are seen as a 'rich gravy train' and have a strong reputation for being cash rich buyers and some unscrupulous estate agents may take advantage of this. Remember to play a long game, make a lower offer and stick to your guns. The best negotiation strategy is to be able to highlight comparable properties selling in the area, basically if you can highlight a similar property in the same area is selling for less, and then it's easier to justify the price you are offering.

7. Rental schemes
Beware of guaranteed rental schemes, as some, but not all are just a sales tool and a cash flow exercise. Rental guarantees are sometimes offered in areas where there is an over supply of rental properties. Ask the developer to give you the value of the rental yield by way of a discount, this way you won't be taxed on the rental income and at least you will know that you have your rental guarantee in the bank, as rental guarantees are often provided by separate shelf companies with no financial strength. There are however some legitimate rental guarantees available backed by established Management Companies or Hotel chains however, be very careful and request your solicitor to carefully read the terms and conditions or any rental guarantee.

8. Dealing with estate agents
Buy through a local agent, if a problem occurs it will be easier to resolve through a local based agent, dealing with problems in a country with a completely different culture and law may be difficult if you are just one buyer dealing with the developer direct.

9. Decide on your strategy
There is no ideal strategy in terms of trying to find the right way to purchase investment property. The strategy that will work best is a strategy based on your long-term goals in line with your financial position. If you are a first time investor with limited resources be careful to choose a property with good rental income, otherwise you will end up sending large monthly top ups to your mortgage provider.

10. Understand the dynamics of the re sale market
The ideal location to purchase overseas property is a market that will be attractive to both a foreign and local buyers. Some locations are very limited in terms of resale opportunity. If most of the buyers are coming form one Country in particular, then this market may falter should that countries economy have a downturn. In other words if 70 or 80%% of buyers are say German buyers and if the German economy should experience problems, then this will seriously effect your ability to re-sell your overseas investment.
